This assortment of books have been selected because they all feature same sex couples navigating some sort of romantic relationship with each other. Fifteen fruits were chosen to represent each book and its couple and therefore a color scheme for each spread. My fruit illustrations are meant to represent the stereotyping of queer relationships as a stereotypical derogatory term for queer people. The goal of this selection of books is to celebrate queer love while also highlighting the sometimes problematic yet overall redundant tropes that the community face. Although queer romance stories are becoming more commonplace in media, they are often still limited by the same tropes that queer characters have been dealing with for decades. Issues with religious institutions, gender expectations, coming out, and others are represented in the stories included in this book. The information provided for the books include dimensions of the physical copy, amount of pages, month and year of publishing, rating out of 5 stars, as well as the stereotypical trope that the two named love interests are are navigating.
